I have 2 out of the 4 asthmatics in out house right now on what we refer to as "doubled up" breathing treatments.
Poor Katelyn came home unable to breathe and coughing from soccer practice last night. It was the usual course of Xopenex and double Pulmicort for her. We will monitor her peak flow numbers to make sure she is where she needs to be during these high pollen count times. (Hmmm...maybe I should add a pollen count gadget to the sidebar)
Gareth has been on and off on double Pulimicort treatments and Xopenex every 4 to 6 hours via nebulizer for a few days now. A trick to keeping a 3 year old down for treatments, read to them or let them watch a video. Reading is always the better option, but not always the most time efficient with 3 kids.
Pulmicort has an Asthma Kids Care Program-I've used it a few times. My kids like some of the "free advertising" products (stickers.. charts). They used to have a program where you could sign up and get a free nebulizer (not the compressor).

Dedicated to those that might find it hard to stay afloat raising a family with asthma and allergies with a touch of what goes on in my head. I think I have to be crazy to exist in this world. This is me trying to figure out who I am and what my family is to me.

Where to start...Asthma Walk-Louisville, KY
I hope as some stumble across this page you will forgive me as this is all new to me. I hope my skills improve as I continue to post. You will also grow to learn more about my family.
I want to start with the American Lung Association's Asthma Walk on June 6th, 2009. We will be walking for a fantastic cause! If you have stumbled to my page, then you probably already know about asthma. Do you know about Asthma Camp? The Asthma 1-2-3 Program?
Did you know 35 million Americans who suffer from lung disease. A disease that is responsible for one in six deaths and ranks as America's #3 killer. Asthma affects more than 22 million Americans and nearly 4,000 lives are cut short by this disease each year
